Commencement

Illinois Institute of Technology’s 156th Commencement will take place in person at the Credit Union 1 Arena in Chicago, on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Please check this page regularly in the coming months for information and important updates regarding Commencement. 

All graduates who will complete their degree programs in May 2025 and August 2025, along with December 2024 graduates, can participate in the Commencement ceremony on May 17, 2025.

Commencement Ceremonies

There will be two separate, combined college-level ceremonies. The first combined ceremony for the Institute of Design, Lewis College of Science and Letters, and the College of Computing will begin at 9 a.m. (CDT). The second combined ceremony for the College of Architecture, Stuart School of Business, and Armour College of Engineering will begin at 2 p.m. (CDT). 

A separate Ph.D. Hooding Ceremony will be held on Friday, May 16, beginning at 10 a.m. (CDT) in the McCormick Auditorium in Hermann Hall on Mies Campus.

Commencement for Chicago-Kent College of Law will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the UIC Dorin Forum.
